Luis Granda was born in Madrid, in the year of 1941.
He studied architecture graduating from the National School of Architecture of the UNAM in Mexico. His artistic works date from more than 25 years.
He has approached diverse techniques such as oil painting, lithography, engraving, watercolor, drawing and all the mixed techniques.
One of the characteristics that distinguishes his work, has been the freedom with which he approaches color as well as the theme and composition.
This related mainly with emotionality, exposure of man and his environment understanding this as the beginning of his roots, culture and emotions
His works are found in important private collections and public collections.
His works have been exhibited in galleries and museums in Mexico, as well in the United States, Puerto Rico, European countries and Israel.
“My work on canvas is from inside outwards.
The human figure is interiorized, unfolded and exposed,
transforming itself into an excuse to express a concept basically organic,
near the order established by the nature....
Each spectator will have to find in each work his own relation within the mystic,
or the surrealism of metaphysics. There is no unifying explanation.”
